Not your average Sunday morning movie, but Taxi Driver was one of the best I’ve seen in a while. This film characterizes a type of person I find perplexing.  The one who hates society for being corrupt and lacking morals, but participates in the same immoral acts, therefore hating himself. I highly recommend this classic.

Also, is it just me or does Travis Bickle with his mohawk and aviators strongly resemble Maynard Keenan’s stage persona as the singer of Tool??

  13. 2006 Star Lane Syrah, Santa Ynez Valley, CA $35
Santa Ynez Valley is an AVA in Santa Barbara County. It is a cooler growing region and is a part of the larger Central Coast region.
This wine had a beautiful nose of black and blue fruit, graphite, cedar, and a hint of fuel.  The palate followed the nose with more dark fruit and gamey characters. The tannins were a bit awkward, but a nice finish overall.
I recommend decanting this one an hour or so before drinking.  Would easily age for another 5-7 years.
